Not sure thats the case, the pickguard is a bit unusual being single ply albeit quite chunky, may have been a nod to the 60th anniversary angle?? I have a DZ6 strat with a standard 3 ply guard.

The headstock looks 100% genuine deluxe style to me. Chrome lettering, single glider string tree.


I suggest keeping the guitar and leaving it the way it was when you received it. When you are my age, you'll be glad you did. This is a top of the line strat. Don't sell it. Ever!

I do believe this might be a 2006 American Deluxe V-neck Strat - the sunburst V-necks had a single-ply mint-ish colored pickguard back then.

My dad bought me my first acoustic guitar in the early 70's for Christmas. It's wasn't an expensive one but I kept it for 35 years until it was stolen out of my car. It was sad as it was one of the few things he ever bought me.. Keep the guitar and treasure it.
