What do recent American Strat body serial numbers start with and how many numbers total are there? I bought a "2008 American" body on Ebay which was supposed to have come from an American Standard and one of the numbers is C00238530 and there's another number w/o letters but with 7 numbers, a dash then 3 numbers.

Not Stratosphere, he seems to be an honest guy. He lists make, serial #, good photos. Bought this from "syracuse_jon". It's a nice body but it doesn't look like Olympic White to me and he hasn't returned my inquiry. It looks several shades off of Olympic White. From what I've seen Olympic White should match the color of a white pickguard. This doesn't. And you can barely see the outline where the pickguard edge was on the paint (shades are off just a hair) so that makes me suspicious that this is really a 2008. I think I'm going to get my money back even if I have to file a claim.

Belphedeus...yes the Z was related to the neck not the body. Sorry if there was a misunderstanding.
