What case comes with the new American Deluxe Standard Strats? I ordered a Deluxe Strat HSS a few days ago through my local music store, and there is a difference between what my dealer is saying will be included, versus what the website is saying.

Thanks a lot, and I am really glad I found these forums!

I had the same problem with my dealer. What's with music stores and their hoarding of guitar/bass cases anyhow? Anyhoo, this is what you should have received with your guitar purchase:
Fender hardshell case, cable, strap, polish cloth, straplocks, Meguiar s care kit.

Yep this is the case that came with my AmD HSS, it is a fender hardshell.

2008 AM DLX guitar and basses come with the same Fender molded case as last year.

Fender should find a way to punish these dealers who lie and say "nope, it only comes with a gig bag." It's outright fraud and theft as far as I'm concerned. Not the way to treat Fenders loyal customers.

We can punish dealers like that by taking pur money else where. My local fender dealer has become a friend and I trust him and his staff 100%. much better than the big chains. just my 2 cents......

Point of clarification:

The dealer isn't saying a "gig bag" or a lesser case comes with the guitar. The website is on the specs page. My dealer is saying that it comes with an SKB case, and the website is saying that it is coming with the molded case as another posters photograph shows.

I am going to have to wait and see what shows up with the case, as Fender is in the middle of upgrading the AMER. Deluxe Fat Strat cases to SKB. Either way, I'm still playing a new guitar on a new Marshall amp! :D

That's good because as you can see, there are a lot of dealers out there who do try to short customers when it comes to the cases. Enjoy the new axe and amp man!

i would if i was you, tell your dealer you want to exchange for a nice G&G case and pay the difference. they should beable to do this and you will be happier in the long run if not right now. just some advice take it or leave it though.
fenders belong in G&G cases. the new SKB-Fender plastic ones are nice too but dont accept one of those old chinese made things.

I just bought one tonight, and it came with the case shown in the other post photo. Oddly enough, it's the same guitar too. And I got it at one of the big box stores. I'm moving from a Gretsch, and couldn't be more pleased after three hours tonight.
