what pot values should i use for my new hss guitar. i play all positions im not biased to one certian position and the set up is the usual . i would like to know what values are good for volume and the tones

Go with 500K audio. For the tone pot, use whatever is currently in there. For the single coils to 'see' a 250K pot (or close enough to it), solder a 470K resistor along with their respective lead wire at the pickup selector switch with the other tail of each resistor to ground.
