Robin Trower is 67 today.....and he is still out there kicking guitar butt!!
This legend is responsible for my near psychotic obsession with the Fender Stratocaster and my near endless journey to achieve "that sound"!
Happy Birthday Robin.........many more to you!!!

Mmmm... Incidentally I just picked up the Voodoo Lab "Micro Vibe". It's a reproduction of the classic Uni-Vibe and does the "Bridge of Sighs" thing amazingly well.

Anyways, happy birthday to a very underrated guitar legend!

If you think that is good....you should try Fulltone's Deja Vibe ( which is the actual unit that Trower has been using for years!) ...which technically reproduces the exact Univibe circuit.....the sound gives me chills!!

Happy Birthday, Robin! I always miss you when you're in the area. But I'll have a ticket for sure next time.

I'm buying the Wilson Effects Haze vibe. It's a boutique pedal but it costs about the same as the Micro Vibe. I'd love a stereo vibe, but they're just too expensive. The stereo Deja Vibe is $300+.

Correcting my spelling.

I saw him at The Galaxy Theater in Santa Ana, California about a year ago. I must admit even though he is great on recordings, live he is simply outstanding. The lead singer in the band looks like Jerry Springer. The guys' voice is very close to James Dewar. Lord willing, I hope to see him perform live again someday! These days Robin kind of resembles the actor Edward Platt, who played the "chief," on the 60s Get Smart sitcom. Robin performed a jaw dropping version of "Spellbound," at this gig. You'd have to be there to fully appreciate it!
