Does anyone know why the Big Dippers are set very low on the bass side and much higher on the treble side on the JM strats? That's the way mine came. The height is not common to any of the other Fender pickups setup specs.

Thanks

Well, because pickup height is a very personal thing, besides the restrictions of magnets and such, it might have been set-up that way because of the voicing of the pickups, or they plain "just felt like it". It's pretty common practice to have the treble side higher anyways.

As far as specs go, they're just guidelines. Find out the minimum height(no increased 60-cycle hum, and not fallen into the pickguard), and maximum height(does not affect string vibration) you can go with the pickups, and experiment in between!

Yes I also think it's because of the voicing of the pickups. I've tried experimenting with the pups height and what I found is the original setting provides the best tone or should I say the best JM tone.
Thanks
