"Trust me when I say, take your guitar to a local guitar store that should have a little box of trem arms under the counter. The MIM Strats have too many variations. Mine was all about trial and error. HINT: If your a trem user, have it set up right by a pro."

Actually, I am a trem user: or should I say abuser!
I love using a trem. Just seems to come natural to me.
It's the one thing missing on this strat: I find myself reaching for it and it's not there!
I think I'll take your advice and take it to my local luthier.
My first thought was to order a couple different ones and take my chances.
But it probably makes more sense to do as you suggest, and at the same time he can take a look at it and tell me what he thinks.

Really impressed with the range of tones I can get. The trebles bite really nice but are not shrill or tinny at all. The low end is really mellow. It's also got great natural sustain.
Really having a blast with it.
And all for $200!

You cant beat that with a wooden baseball bat!

Got my trem arm today. $10, with the spring, from my local repair shop.
Now I am complete.

I know what you mean about the trem. I have bought and sold a few different guitars and I never feel like they are complete till the arm is on them. I recently had my Korean Squire II in the shop and looked about having a locking nut put on cause I love to dive on the trem. The shop owner is a Strat player and said he could set it up to stay in tune and function as smooth as the floyd on my other guitar. Sure enough, he set it up and it plays like a dream, AND stays in tune. I play with 8's and it turns out you need to go down to 2 springs if your gonna float the trem. I used what I learned and set up my MIM Strat and now I have a hard time choosing which guitar to play.
