For stock pickups, they sound really well. I like the sound. Some of my musician friends have played it and like the sound of the pickups as well. So far, I LOVE THIS GUITAR!!

Just got my mine. A silverburst. What an awesome guitar! I was stunned when i took it out of the box. First thing i noticed was how good it looks. Great color. The fretwork is the best i've seen on any strat ever!! Total surprise. High mass trem block. Coldpressed Fender stamped steelsadles. The neck is very smooth on comfy to play, beautyfull tinted og its got vintage tuners (my personal favorite). Tight neckpocket and MJ frets. And it sounds great with a lot of growl in the humbucker. I dont know if they are Alnico pups but they look like it.....the dont have the typical rounded edge on the magnets that the ceracmic pups on the Mex Standard have. And i like the coilsplit on the bridge humbucker too.

I dont know if Fender are shooting themselves in the foot by seeling theese low budget strats. Im sure they are going to sell loads of them when people find out how good the actually are. I have owned and played a lot of Standard Mex Strats but this MP Strat beats them hand down.
