That is a stunning guitar, and you seem like a classy guy Xhefri. I wasn't wowed by the firestorm, but that blue is magnificent. I really enjoyed your thread about on the firestorm refinish, just so you know. :D

Thanks you guys. Takes all kinds of people to make the world go round! My dad use to tell me: Never argue with a woman when she is right or a man when he is wrong.

I learned a lesson from a close friend years ago. I collected 1930s cars and parts and he was into the 50s Fords—like Crown Victorias, Retractables, Skyliners, etc. He had around 50 cars. This guy knew his stuff, even right down to serial number prefixes on the motors. One day he asked me to go with him on a 120 mile drive to buy a 1959 Ford Police Interceptor motor. When we got to the place, the owner went on and on, bragging about this motor, how it came out of a cop car and had high performance heads, etc. He was an ego-head...I guess you could say.

My friend listened carefully, smiling. He bent over, scraped the serial number and then told the guy he would think about it and we left. When we got in the car I asked him, "Why didn't you buy the motor? We came all this way!" He responded, "That was a stock 312 motor. The guy either was lying or misinformed." I said, "Why didn't you set him straight! You know what this is, you could have put his big mouth in it's place!" He smiled and explained, "This guy seemed convinced he knew what he had. Why should I waste my time and energy trying to convince him or humiliate him? He seemed pretty satisfied in thinking he knew what he had. Better just to let him alone."

I thought about that for a long time. I let people have the right to be wrong. It's ok. If you know where you stand and are sure of what you have or know, then that is good enough. Just let them alone...... Lesson learned. Now if a person is teachable or asking questions, or wants an open dialog, then that is different! From day one with this fellow about the Firestorm guitars, he had a Ford Police Interceptor motor and knows it all.....After all, these are "just guitars" and there are a lot more important things in life...

+1 how does it sound Xhefri? Certainly looks like it would be a dream to play.

Do you think you'll do any videos like TMart said?

Xhefri. Is this yours? I know what the standard image of a "burst" is, as I have several;

but your blue guitar really looks like a new form of "BURSTING" :lol:

Great looking guitar. Wish I had one.

Thanks, Xhefri. Some great points well made.
Your friend did not know if the seller was telling truth in his own mind or not.
Just let it go. Too many possibilities. Just was not right for your friend.
Toppscore :)
