Some of you were watching this thread: http://www.fender.com/community/forums/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=66568 where I reconditioned a Firestorm Strat Plus. The finished product is seen below:

In that thread i shared that there had been rumors and speculations about a Blue version of these guitars, but none have been verified. There is not one picture on the internet. (If you can find one, please let me know!) Speculation was, there were a few made and they were called an Icestorm Strat Plus. Last night I bought one! (no not on eBay!). A friend located this in a garage at an estate sale. He was told the owner was friends with some of the people who worked at Fender in the early 1990s. The body should be here in about two days, but here are the low light pictures he sent me. I have been dealing with Strat Plus and Ultra guitars for years. I think this is one of the top hardest to find finishes Fender produced. I have looked for years to fidn even a picture of one, let along actually scoring one. My friend told me this has blue metallic in the clear coat the sparkles in the light. On this thread i will be restoring the body with a matching 1991 neck. Stay tuned!:

You found one!!!

In answer to your question - yes, I did actually see one in a store along with a matching Tele Plus in a really odd store on the east side of Cleveland back in say 1992 or maybe 1993 (we lived in Akron Ohio from the fall on 1991 until early 1994). I used to occasionally go through the yellow pages and pick out a few Cleveland stores to go check on on days off, etc. This was an old store that had a bunch of odd new and old guitars - wierd stuff like 3-4 Micro-Frets guitars; I've only seen about 7 Micro-Frets in my lifetime and half of them were at this place and they looked like they had been in stock since the 1970s.

At any rate both Ice Storm Fenders had rosewood boards; for the life of me I can't remember if the Tele was a Plus or a Plus Deluxe with the trem.

X...now that is a rare find indeed. Not really a Deluxe or Strat Plus kind of guy, but I do like that finish...different but no crazy different! Great score...and now a matched set!

I thought I saw a pic of one before, guess I did. I like it better than the firestorm.

My goodness that is one of the nicest looking body I have seen this side of Megan Fox .... if you ever decide to sell her (the same applies to you to Brian Austin Green) can I have first dibs?

I hear Manchester City want to sign Sturridge from Chelsea .... there's a special offer at The Bridge, buy one Sturridge and get a Torres free .... and take AVB with him. PLEASE!!!!!

@Xhefri

Did you plan building an Ice Storm Strat Ultra with the deluxe locking tremolo system, an American Deluxe maple neck and an aged white pearloid pickguard?

The body was suppose to come today but FedEx decided not to deliver... Ummmm. My plan is to restore this. I emailed Fender customer support and asked about he color. Never heard back from them. I have only heard these were called Icestorm, but do not know for sure. Should be able to post more Monday. Any info anyone has would be great. Where is Chromeface when you need him???
