Your guitar is actually a Deluxe Super Strat (predecessor to the Deluxe Player). It appears that the guitar was made at least through 2003. This guitar does not have VN's, but rather used a modified version of the American Standard pickups (the Deluxe Powerhouse Strat also utilized modified Amer. Std. pups in conjunction with a dummy coil). The Super Strat also had a 9.5" neck radius vs. the 12" of the Deluxe Player.

With the advent of the Delta Tone System, the bridge pickup on the American Standard Strat and Tele was wound slightly hotter and there was also the addition of two screws on the pick up bases. This was supposed to effectively function as a base plate and in conjunction with the slightly overwound pickup provide increased output and better bass response. It looks like this Delta Tone bridge pick up has been applied to the middle and neck positions of the Super Strat (although I have to wonder why the bridge pickup doesn't seem to have this). The pickups as applied to the Deluxe Super Strat are called "Super Fat Strat pickups".

Even more specifically, the screws slightly increase the inductance of the pickup.
