I purchased a new 62 American Vintage Reissue Strat from an authorized Fender dealer in December 2010. It has a serial of V133308. I am the original owner I emailed Fender customer relations for details on the serial just to have them and they told me that it is not in their database. Is this common for such a new instrument? I now its silly, but I want to make sure my strat is legit. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Having a look at the updated serial number giude your number fits the system , the guide does say to chack the neck date for the specific year.

If you are the original owner check the case candy etc for a hang tag if there is one that may have the model number ec which would also authenticate it as a 62 american vintage series also if it has a hand written serial number check this is th same as the guitar.

In the main the spec they send you is the same as what is on the website.

Strange the serial is not in the database especially as it is over 12 months ago i have 2002 standard tele that is not in the database also i reckon they must have mistyped the numbers when inputting it.
