Goofy?

I'd like to be standing behind you while you tell Richie Blackmore that.

:| Well your creepy... Give anyone a 61' strat and then tell them that the dark years headstocks look better, no ones in the market for that junk unless your on budget!! lol It doesn't even compare to the early years. And who is ritchie blackmour?  :D
If he's anything as lame as yngwie malmsteen, well I'll just leave it at that... I have owned both headstock shapes, tonally, it doesn't create an impact difference, and those guitars just scream "cut the budgets". lol I don't care how talented a guitarist is, those guitars were l-a-m-e.

Classy craftsmanship was always in, corporate toy looking fat heads were always out..

imho

 Jimi is rolling over.... :o

At first, I didn't like them either. But they definitely say "70s", they've grown on me and I think that they are cool.

Yes, immediately think; Blackmore and Hendrix first, but everyone must have used them back then. I mean, from 68 to about 81, all Strats had the large headstock. Other Fender instruments already had the large headstock prior, so it wasn't really that unusual to see them.

Of course, my favorite is still the original.

You are calling me "creepy" ?

I don't have a '61 Strat, but I do have a '54 and a '64 and I do like the so-called "dark years" headstock look better. As you say, IMHO.

BTW, the large headstock wasn't a corporate decision, it was Leo's ...
