anyone installed one of these before? does it involve any drilling holes in the body or do you just run the wires under the pickguard to the control cavity?

thanks John,

I did look into the fishman page after I posted last night. Seems like I would just feed th wire under the pickguard or through the hole drilled to the spring cavity for the ground wire.

of what I'm able to find out, it appears it's done without the need to drill new holes.

Thanks guys.

It will probably be some time before I can afford this mod, and I have other ones that I'm thinking of first, like a TBX tone control and active mid boost. Now I suspect that presents another problem with respect to the controls on the pickguard. Specifically a volume control for the Powerbridge.

I guess I could use a push/pull pot on the volume knob and have one position for the Powerbridge... or I could just add a 3 way switch to the guitar for Piezo/Magnetic/Both and not bother with a volume control for the Powerbridge. Besides, a true acoustic guitar has no volume control, it's all done with pick attack. :)

Hi chromeface: you seem to be telling us that the Fishman Powerbridge causes agonising constipation...?

Cheers - C

The CS made a similar guitar for Eric Clapton in 2004. Apparently Eric had never used it onstage.

Chromeface, did you take the picture? It looks like the Fender display at the MIM (Musical Instrument Museum) in Phoenix, AZ. Athens is a long way from Phoenix, Vacation?

Hi Huse: don't know if Chromeface took it, but I suspect that photo comes from the big sale of Clapton's gear held at Bonham's Auction House last year. We had a fat thread about it on the Forum at the time:

https://www.fender.com/community/forums ... =2&t=49118

A LOT of gear pictures to be viewed from page three of that thread onwards. Enjoy.

Cheers - C

Thanks Ceri. Guess I should of looked closer at the picture I orignally thought was from the Museum in Phoenix. There typically is not any "non-fender" products in the fender display, branding I guess. Also thanks for the link to your previous posts from the Clapton auction. Great pictures! Thought about buying the pre-auction magazine last year, but felt it was priced a little high to sit on the coffee table for a few months.
Cheers to you as well
Huse

Pictured left near the acoustic Blackie is the so-called T-Mobile Strat my good ole friend Arne did mention on many of his threads; a tabacco sunburst '56 Relic used by EC in late 2004 which has been later upgraded with the same specs actually found on his personal guitars. This guitar features a nice flamed maple top.

There was also another sunburst Strat with Lace Sensors which dates from 1998.

Tabacco Sunburst is not an authorized colour yet, so don't expect a signature Brownie so far!
