Hi All,
I bought this neck listed as a Fender 62 RI (with Fender Elite Tuners). I expected it to be fatter than it is (my MIJ 62 is fatter), but what makes me question the authenticity is that I can see the edges of the decals on the headstock. I am admittedly unfamiliar with these necks, so if it's just the way it is supposed to be, I'll resell it and look for a fatter neck. If it's bogus then I will deal with the seller.

Look the "F" in the Fender logo and you can see what I'm talking about. You can see that outline around both decals if you're looking at the actual neck. I can take more pix but I think you can get the idea.
Can you help me out?

JB...The neck looks very legit. The decal on the Vintage reissues is just like back in the old days, it is applied OVER the finish, so you can see the edge. The tuners are not original to the neck, but look very nice on it.

Thanks for the response. I am glad that it's for real. I guess I am just really surprised that it is not as fat as I expected, but then that would be my responsibility for not researching more. The MIJ neck is the perfect profile for me, and I had hoped this one would be the same. I may have to sell it and find an MIJ or maybe a 62 Hot Rod, which I am told is fatter.

i just recieved my 85 MIJ neck the other day i bought on ebay.
I love it, neck is very flat once you get around the 12th fret, D shape, as up on top it has the normal C shape..
now this is the reason i wanted this neck because of the thinness.
