Looks like an American Fender Strat body. I'm not sure Fender is using the American Series Body routes for the American Standard.

???????? Is not the American standard stratocaster part of the American series????

The op's question: 2 point bridge, HSH routing, and the rolled saddles are all on American standard strats. Yes, Looks like an American standard strat body.

No. Back in the '80s Fender decided to have more than 1 style of Strat. Before that there were just Strats. Then the, "The Strat" came out, then Strat Elite, then the Strat Plus Series and so forth.

To seperate the other american Strat Models and the overseas Strats from the American model Fender launched the American Std. in about 1987 (I don't remember the exact date, but that's pretty close). This was Fender's American made Strat.

This Strat had flush magnet pickups, flatter body contours, a 2-point bridge, new tuning keys, a TBX tone knob, 80s style Fender decal (changed to Spegatti in the mid-90s) and big "swimming pool" pickup cavety route. There were other changes, but I can't remember what they were.

Then in 2000 (or there abouts) Fender over hawled the whole thing. The necks, tuning keys, pickups, pickup routes, bridge block and body contours were all changed to make the guitar more like the Strats of old. The became the American Series Strat.

Hearing the cry of the players, Fender changed the Strat again in 2008. I'm not sure what those changes are, but it was dubbed, "the American Std."

Unfortunately I'm not as familiar with the new American Std. as I should be.

I hope this answers your question.

liandri,

To find out exactly what you've got, look up the color on the Fender website or you can call the company.

Also see if you can find an actual date stamp somewhere. Head Stock S/N are not an exact science, but neck joint and neck dates are more accurate. You might also find the date on the pickguard.

Why don't you want to remove the neck? You won't damage the guitar in any way.
