Hi Guys,

I have just purchased a mexi strat..is the setup procedure the same as on a US strat?

I have a couple of questions re setup too:

I like the bridge to float a little bit on my strats, i have only ever had the two point bridge and have never adjusted a vintage style bridge..i know i adjust this with the two claw screws but do i need to adjust any of the six screws at the front as well?

Is pickup height the same as US standard single coils?

Any help would be great!

Yep, the setup is the same for just about any model. All settings suggestions are just that, suggestions, and you can tweak to suit your taste. You shouldn't have to adjust the six bridge screws, just the claw screws. This is the Fender site setup guide, also has pup heights for various types, including Standard (Mex), and differences in bridges.

Just to add to the above reply - if you want the bridge low (and don't do much tremolo), you may want to loosen the 6 bridge screws by about 1/2 turn when you tighten the claw. Makes the whole assy flatter. You can also put all the springs on it, but still loosen the 6 screws a bit. This procedure also works with the USA 2-point floating bridge, in that case you loosen the 2 outside screws a bit.
