Anyone ever tried the Fender Vintage Noiseless / Hot Noiseless Pickup for stratocaster? Comparing to the original strat pickup, are they really much more noiseless and cancel all the hum if not all most of the hum? Or the hum would only be decreased by a little? And are these Fender noisless pickup the same thing and made the same way as those single-coil size humbucker? Which one do you personally prefer? Vintage or Hot? I heard these Fender made noiseless pickup cancel the hum in advantage but there's also disadvantage which is it sounds lifeless. It just cancel the hum but doesn't make the tone much better than the original strat pickups. But that's just what I heard.

I have a set in my 07 MIM Deluxe.
They came in the guitar when i bought it used.
I like them, the only thing i have to compare is to my set of Texas Specials,
which are very noisy. The only amp i have played them through at the moment is
a Line 6 spider IV 75, not the Marshall yet, might get to that today.
also i do not know what version they are vintage or Hot.
I get both very nice clean strat sounds or a nice dirty sounds.
i would suggest going to the music store and look for a guitar that might have them installed and test it yourself.

I have them in 3 of my guitars.
I have NO complaints at all!
Nice and "Stratty" and quiet as heck!
The true litmus paper test of having good tone is when a total stranger comes up to you after a gig and compliments you on your 'sound'.
Isn't THAT what we are all after? Appreciation/recognition of our sound?
I've had that happen several times after gigs with Fender Vintage Noiseless loaded guitars!

After my 1st real test today on my Start with noiseless pups.
was in the studio working on a few things, and got to crank up my new Line 6 amp
amazing tone with very controlled feedback, my friends LP was hard to control at this volume on the same amp.
I haven't tested many other types of strat pups, but would recommend these.
With the guitar volume turned down they clean up very nice, even while playing on the dirty channel on the amp,
turn it back up, and they have all the punch you will need, both bridge and neck positions.
These pups have the strat sound without all the 60hrz noise..
and i also got to give props to the amp, Line 6 Spider IV 75, as being the 1st time under a proper tone and volume test.
$300 for a new amp that does just about everything you could possibly want.

Vintage Noiseless pickups are good enough for Eric Clapton. That's all I need to know.

I have them in my Jeff Beck signature Strat. To give you an idea of how good they are, I need to compare my old American Series Strat against it. I had my American Series strung with 11s while my Jeff Beck was strung with 9s. I recently started using 11s to get more tone, I've never used anything less than 10s. On the Jeff Beck Strat, it's strung with 9s and there is a lot more output and tone than my American Series with the 11s. There is no buzz or background noise with the noiseless pickups either.

Jeff Beck Strat uses Hot Noiseless.

The American Deluxe SSS made prior to 2004 used two Vintage Noiseless pickups in the neck/middle and a Hot Noiseless pickup in the bridge.

The bridge unit was actually a dual-coil pickup with ceramic magnets.

Dual-coil ceramic pickups are hotter than the regular Noiseless types, having a better balance with a hot bridge humbucker (such as the Atomic and the PAF Pro) when used in the neck/middle positions.

I had them in my 2007 MIM Deluxe. Thought they were good until I heard a freinds Jeff Beck signature strat. Remember, the Jeff Beck sig has the ceramic HOT Noiseless not the alnico Vintage noiseless. They blew my Vintage noiseless away and made them seem gutless. Both Hot and Vintage Noiseless are indeed very quiet.

Today I helped a freind pick out a new American Standard SSS. Up until today I had no experience with the new generation (2007 to current) American Standards and all I gotta say is DAMN!! Fender really did an amazing job with the pickups! Played it through 3 amplifiers today, a 100 watt Marshall MG, a Mesa Boogie Lonestar and a 1989 Marshall Bluesbreaker reissue and they smoked the Seymour Duncan SSL-6 set I replaced my old Vintage set with.

Im trying to find out more about the American Standard set cause they do it all so far and sound like humbuckers with the tone knobs all the way up honestly...I think they are wound to about 8 or 9k. I believe the VIntage set are wound from 6-8.5 at the bridge.

The other guitar player in my band has a recent American Deluxe with the N3 Noiseless and they sound incredible I dont know why so many people hate on them. Fender put a hell of alot of effort into designing them. They are hard to get for some reason though. If you can put up with a LOT of 60 cycle hum get the American standard set, if not then HOT Noiseless should make you pretty happy. Hope this helps!

I put a set of VN in my strat. I did it mainly because when I was playing all the time in churches, well churches loves some florescent lights, and I hate carrying more then three guitars. I am also not a fan over overwound pups. When I was in my late teens early twenties I wanted loud and dirty. Now I want mellow and able to hear when I'm fifty. But yeah I love my set of VN. They sound good in my champ 600. Sound good with my TS clone. Sound killer in my JetCity combo.

You see, taste cannot be disputed.

I got so annoyed by the set of Hot Noiseless (Jeff Beck) in my Strat that I threw them out. In my ears, they lacked tone. And yes, I know how to set up pickups. I now have Bare Knuckle pickups which really deliver the sound I want. In my ears, the VN are better and SCN are the best of the noiseless designs.

A matter of taste.

Cheers

David

Today i was at the Guitar Center here in town, and was asking about the noiseless pickups that came in my 07 MIM Deluxe,
they said it was a special order, and they didn't come as stock pickups, plus it has the polarity switch button which is a nice feature.

Heck yeah, man, do it!
The sound is clean and stratty as mentioned earlier.
Oh and it's amazing how unbelievably quiet they are.

Caution:
Directions for wiring and associated electronics can be ambiguous.
Ask around...and keep the 250K pots.

I just put a set of the Hot Noiseless in my US Standard. I absolutely love them. Was getting some hum when practicing on my Class A amp, and was really happy with the SCNs in my US Deluxe Tele.

I went up to my local shop to order them, and he just had a set come in. Good timing. Something about them being ordered to not have to include Fender strings in the accessories order

Hum is now gone. Cleans are so bell clean it's pretty amazing. Still sounds like a strat with some nice extra kick. I am very happy with them. Install and solder was a breeze.

Now, for 2 S1 switches.
