A standard, but with a hotrails pickup in the bridge. Mine's odd, it's a standard MIM but it's got an ash body with a natural finish, tortoiseshell pickguard and aged plastic parts. The stock pickups were Tex-Mex but I'm installing the hotrail in a couple weeks.

sharp, grindy, and just strong sounding, rather than your usual warm strat single-coil tone. It's a sweet pickup if your into massive, modern sounds. if you're into more vintage tones, you'd be better off with Fender noiseless pickups.

Since I have an American Standard, I'll go with the Standard Strat, but I wouldn't knock back a vintage Strat by a long shot.

My answer would be custom because I love vintage but also love a larger radius and fret then vintage so ergo Custom.

im thinking about getting an american strat HSS. I just want to be diffrent so i will get a black pickguard, black pickups and black knobs. i also want the new S-1 swithing system so i can get the clean sound for a normal 3 single coil strat. any thoughts?

I had to vote standard because that's what I play, and when I thought about it, the vintage Stratocasters I've played (and sadly that is not too many) were all the standards at the time they were produced.
