yeah, you gotta watch those salesmen. If they tell you something ask them to cite their source.

Thanks Keith,

I appreciate your answer. It's just weird that the letter wear out and the rest look like brand new???

From the little time I spent with my guitar, I can say that it is indeed a nice soundind axe. But I might change the pickups for Texas specials. I was suprised by the tone of the guitar vs. the weight. Especially for a Strat.

The salesman was telling me that the body was comparable to custom shops, tremolo of higher end US strat and bird eye neck... So smooth.

When I told the salesman that I was suspecting the build date to be 2004, he told me that it was older than that? So that just confirm what I was thinking.

Thanks again.

I am pretty sure that I read somewhere on the net that these particular model was a FSR produced from 2004 -2008.
Yes, it's weird with the worn out letters - perhaps someone did it with the intention of fooling someone about the origin ? I have to say I got it pretty cheap ( pure luck?) - the person who sold it told me that other buyers only were interested in if it was an US-model. And because it was not - they lost their interest.....
My guitar needed a cleaning and a proper set -up, some filing on some fret-ends, then she was ready to rock! I think that I am at least the third owner of it...
Could be interesting to hear about how Texas Specials would work , but personally I am very satisfied with the sound -I think the pick-ups are great, and will not change them!

Same here.

Guitar was behind the counter, not with the other Fender products. Maybe because they didn't want to mix new and used together???

I got the guitar for the price of a MIM. But it sounds like a US... maybe even better.
I didn't had to bring it to guitar shop for a tuneup, since it was already done. Only thing I dislike, is the tremolo. I will get it fixed, as I am playing hardtail.

Funny, because a month ago I ordered the FSR Amber Telecaster. I end up leaving it there because of neck through body and humbucker pickup weren't giving me satisfaction. I was thinking that Korean made guitars were dull. Guess I was wronh :)

I purchased mine from a personal owner ( via local kind of ebay..) The price was about the half of what i paid for my MIM classic 50's new, some years ago. I did not really feel that I needed one more strat , since I the last year have been more into telecasters, especially '69 thinline (RI) , of which I 've got 2 :) But this one was too temptating , hence the ash body and SD- pickups . No regrets! Sounds almost as an exaggeration of a 'normal' strat-sound :D
My Korea-strat came without a tremarm , but luckily I got one that fitted from the local GC. And for me that just works fine- but now I see that I have to give it a bit attention - put on som nut-oil etc

Nice strat. I always thought only MIAs come with a two point trem.

Here's my only Korean Strat - it's an all original Showmaster.

That was also what I thought. I was a bit surprised over this one-quite modern :)
