hey guys, sorry i haven't been around recently, but i've been going through a lot of musical projects, namely my youtube channel and i've been writing new songs for my band (a ray of inspiration hit me hard this week and i figured i'd take advantage of it)... well anyways i've been loving my squier vm strat and call me crazy but i think i want another one, yeah i know the 2007 models were discontinued (which is a shame because these new models don't really work for me) but besides how i feel about the new models the surf strats have really caught my eye though i've been needing some humbucker tones so i'm thinking of adding a bridge humbucker to one of these (a friend of mine gave me a seymour duncan sh-4 humbucker for my birthday but i don't want to change a thing on my other guitars)... would i need a trembucker on a vintage modified strat?

p.s. what would a lipstick single coil sound like distorted?

With the SH-4, turn it sideways and gently line its polepieces up with your strings so you can see if the spread of your strings are conducive to using it. If they are close enough, fine. If not, then you'll have to go with the TB-4.

A lipstick single coil distorted sounds sounds like an extremely clanky, bassy mess.
