If you have an Am Dlx it may have a compound radius fretboard that goes from 9.5 to 14". Otherwise, I'd say 9.5" is more the standard.
Just in the last few days I've noticed that a song I'm working on that has a lot of chord changes around the 5th to 7th frets, is easier to play on my Tele (9.5")than on my Strat (9.5-14")or LP (12"). I immediately realized it was the neck radius that was working for me. It was the first time I'd noticed much difference in my playing between the different necks.

The Select series also feature compound radius necks.

aren't all necks compound radius necks.?
i have not seen any that have the same radius at the nut as it does on the 21st fret.
maybe a classical guitar.
maybe i'm just thinking about it wrong, and you mean something else.

When I eyeball my Tele or LP, looking from the bridge down the neck, they look to have a consistent radius to me. Compound radius necks are not real common.

See, I was thinking that all necks had a straight radius, unless noted that it was compound. Like a LP was straight 12, my Strat was straight 9.5 But someone told me that the radius gets flatter after the 12th fret on most guitars, for bending. I've had LPs and Strats all my life, so this is something I never thought about. I don't think I've ever played a compound radius?

These features are only available on a specific series such as American Deluxe and Select.

You can get an American Standard with a compound radius neck only in the form of a Factory Special Run. Otherwise you must ask the Custom Shop to make a guitar or bass built to your exact specs and the prices may skyrocket a lot (ouch!)

Or just put an Am. Dlx. neck on standard body, and then do a complete setup.

Deluxe necks have a beveled heel.

They cannot fit into a standard body without a few minor alterations - unless they're pre-drilled for use with regular and deluxe bodies.
