My 2000 Strat is blue with a white pickguard and a maple fingerboard. I think it's Lake Placid Blue but I'm not sure. Part no. 011-7402-779. Is 779 the color code for lake placid blue?

Hi gjb16,

Hmmm...

02 is the color code for LPB. I think that the last two digits of the number are the color code, and 79 is "Frost Gold". :?:

http://www.fender.com/support/colorchart/index.php?show=gold&color=56

For part number 011-7402-779
011 indicates American
74 is model number
02 is right-hand maple neck
7 is case type
79 is the color code

Are you sure the number is correct?

Thanks for the reply. That's the number on the inspection tag
That it came with. It's handwritten. Is the number printed on the
guitar anywhere? I bought it new in Nov.2000

Contact Fender with your serial number and they can give the specifics.

I have an UK autumn 2000 illustrated price list and the 011-7402-7CC codes are the American Series Stratocaster with a maple neck available in 06 black, 15 hot rod red, 74 aqua marine metallic, 00 3c sunburst, 01 white blond, 21 natural.

Could the 9 on the tag actually be a 4?

Let's s know what fender say

Thanks again for the help guys.
Shimmilou, I will contact Fender with the serial no.
Ukraider, I'll inspect the tag again, but I'm pretty sure the
last three are 779. Would the model no. be anywhere on the
guitar itself?

Hi gjb16

Can you post a pic of your guitar so we can see the actual colour we are talking about and possibly a pic of the inspection tag as you say it is handwritten?

This is from the 2001 frontline:

Model: Stratocaster
Model No: 011-7402
Body: Alder or Ash
Fingerboard: Mmaple
Machine Heads: Dlx stgrd/cast.std
Frest: 22 med jumbo
Pickups: 3 cstm stgrd sgl-coil w/delta tone
Controls: Vol, Tone, Tone
Switching: 5 way
Bridge: 2 point sychronised Trem
Colours: 00, 01 (ash), 03 (ash), 06, 15, 21(ash), 74 (ash)

(here is a scan of the colours not the greatest pic but anyway)
