Hello All!

I may have posted this a long time ago, but I want to hear your stories of guitars that were aweful.

I myself made the mistake of buying a Tele with a Bigsby vibrato and it was a nightmare to deal with. I sold it pretty quickly so I could buy my some a new guitar.

Paris

Normally I would agree with you, but this was mechanical issue.

The guitar sounded great, but it was pain to change strings (even when I knew the short cuts) and there was an aweful mettalic rattle (buzz) I couldn't get rid of now matter I did to fix it.

The concept of a Tele with Bisby is sound, but the design needs some work.

Some solutions:
1. Make the posts that the strings anchor to longer and/or curved.
2. Get rid of the current bridge. The Gibson style bridge is a better design.

I disagree with you, but understand that what guitars you like/dislike is personal. I love both Strats and Teles. It all depends on how I feel and what sound I'm going for. But I will say that 7 out of 10 times I'll grab a Strat.

So what's you hangup with Teles?

Consider growing a sense of humour. Martian's quote was just lying on a silver tablet. Someone had to take it.

Cheers

David

Well, I wouldn't call it a "hangup", per se. Rather, to me they are merely an incomplete Strat.

As always...

I think Leo Fender would agree with you.

They are essentially a toy where any consideration of them being a functional instrument is a big leap.

As always this is merely IMO where YMMV.

Anything with a Bigsby on it is going to be troublesome.

The only thing I'd put a Bigsby on is Ebay..
