As long as your not cutting or drilling on your guitar,
try many different things, as this is the best way to learn about your guitar,
trial and error is a very good teacher.

thanks blue sky, you helped a lot

an jim trial and error does help

will try a .010" shim on the two front screws of the neck, i am hoping to achieve raising the height of the strings there by allowing me to lower the screws especially on the #3 and #4 string which is almost at max
personally i find fender made a very poor design with a plate bent in a upside down V with 2 screws on either side, very flimsy and unstable. all they had to do extra was to make a counter sunk hole where the screw fall on the plate below
is there a better design that can replace this setup

You're welcome.

The Fender saddle has been around for 58 years. A lot of people seem to think Leo did it right.

Try these. I use them on all my guitars (except for my AVRI 52 Tele).

Just a thought. Is this the original neck that came with the guitar.?
if not, then you may have heel issues being too thick.

as for cutting or drilling, not recommended for beginners.
unless you payed under $100 for the guitar... :D

String height, intonation setting, and neck relief are all interactive with each other and must all be adjusted to achieve a proper setup. Follow the instructions here:

+1 If you are new at this and very handy, patient, have a good ear and the right tools I'd say do it yourself. But on the other hand if you are not familiar with all of this adjustment stuff, I'd say find a good luthier.

Good Luck!

decided to start over and changed the strings, went thru the setup and when i reached
- the string height, found string height too high,
- also noticed that the loose feeling i was getting on the strings as compared to my acoustic was gone.
- all the little buzzing sounds i was getting, gone
even though i am a green beginner, it sound and plays different ( better )

did i put on a defective set of strings on last week?
did i put the strings on better and did not realise it?

What really going on
