That's a great tip about the howto pages. Till this thread I didn't even know it was there. Many thanks,

Cheers,

Setups are easy: First you need simple tools:

1) large phillips head screwdriver

2) small phillips head screwdriver

3) flat head screwdriver

4) allen wrench for height adjustment screws

5) 6" steel ruler.....at hardware store

6) most importantly, a strobe tuner. These are much more accurate than meter style

7) new strings...must use the brand and gauge that you will use the majority of time

8) LOTS OF PATIENCE, especially setting up a floating tremolo.

When you get this stuff, let us know.

9) If any of the above doesn't work for you, get a medium sized hammer. If the medium sized hammer doesn't work for you, get a large sized one. :D :D :D Only kidding!

One of my first jobs as a kid was helping my neighbor fix things in his house. He used to call hammers "persuaders". Whenever we were having trouble he would tell me that I wasn't using enough persuasion (i.e. get a bigger hammer). To this day I can't use a hammer without thinking of him and :D.

Jack, I recommend you use more patience than persuasion, unless you like the relic look.
