I've just purchased a 2001 American Strat that's black with the white pickguard. I'm not big on black and white. Does anyone have some pictures of their black strat with a pickguard other than white? I'd like to get some ideas of other colors that might look good.

Tortoise looks good on black. I have a J-bass with this combo and it looks sweet.

have you considered black on black? Also, how about Pearloid? The pearloid look comes in many different colors but I think black pearloid would look real sharp on a black guitar.

You can configure all kinds of colors, bridge, keys, etc. and get a good idea what your guitar will look like.
Mine was white on black as well,
but now it's black on black, with all black knobs, covers etc.
I get lots of nice comments on it.

I just went through the same question and searched Google for pics.

Best looking were:

Tortoise
Gold anodized
Black Perloid
3 ply BWB

I stayed with white because I put zebra humbuckers in.
If I had kept the SCs in there, I would have taken tortoise, with black knobs and covers or 3 ply BWB with white knobs and covers.

I like the 1ply white. Just has that classic look.

How about leave the pick guard white and change the pup covers and knobs? Just a thought.
