This young lady from across the pond has gotten the attention of some noted jazz guitarists including Larry Carlton. She certainly got mine. Only been playing since she was 12 and puts her Stratocaster through its paces. If I could play half that good today I'd have a regular paying gig for sure.  8) 8)

Wonder what type of effects she is using? Almost a synth sound like what Pat Metheny uses sometimes. very good and then when she is done she shyly looks up! LOL. Like, "How did i do?" I fell off my chair!

Tears in my eyes. Really. :?

Absolutely flawless technique and incredible musicality. That piece will have been an absolute pig to learn, and she makes it look effortless.

Endless respect for her especially, and the new generation of players taking the guitar to the next level..

Here's what I've been able to dig up. Her name is Jess Lewis she's 17 years old from the UK. Has a degree in Jazz from Chichester college. Has a You Tube channel called Jezzy Lewis with 3400+ subscribers and only 15 uploads. 8) She was noticed on You Tube by JamCentral (a website I've used) and invited to perform in their London studio which has garnered her alot of attention. I would encourage you to watch some of her other videos including her rendition of Room335. I agree with all the accolades she's getting. If she continues to play a Strat wouldn't be surprised if Fender puts her on their artist page. Wishing her the best. :D

Streuth!

...Well: two possibilities. I can give up immediately, throw my guitar in the garbage and spend the rest of my life quietly raising carrots or some such. Or I can look out for forthcoming gigs and go support this girl's talent. I like that option better: not seeing any forthcoming gigs at present, but I'll keep my eye's peeled.

Thanks for the heads-up, Dan.

Cheers - C

LOL  My first thoughts were similar to yours. Perhaps you should offer to build her a Cericaster. Somehow watching carrots grow does not strike me as productive an endeavor as another guitar build...Some of that timber you set aside should have aged nicely by now... 8)
