Hey guys, just thought I'd give you an update on how this whole thing panned out. I did end up sending the neck out to Sky Guitars in Denton, TX, aka warpedneck.com, and they were really good about communication and shipped the neck out promptly when it was done. I have to say I'm impressed - I thought this neck was hopeless but it was definitely straight when I got it, and i actually had to add a little relief when I set it up with 9-42 strings. Needless to say, it doesn't look like a ski jump anymore, and now that the truss rod isn't strained so much, it's fully adjustable again. All in all, for the price of $75+shipping, super-fast turnaround and personal communication, I have to say I'm really happy with this service and would highly recommend trying it if you think you have a hopeless neck. Only downside is that having the neck straight makes it obvious how out-of-whack some of the frets are, but a much-needed leveling/recrowning will fix that. I have to say I miss the heft and (I swear) added sustain of the fatter 50s neck I had. I think I'm going to start looking for a nice fat 60s-style neck to throw on here.

Here's an updated pic of the guitar in its current state. Yup, I "went there" and put the mint green pickguard on. I think it looks great with the beat-up Oly White and RW neck.

Great thread, I'm glad to see the company did a great job with your neck. Most people forget that for all it's working, shaping, and finishing that a guitar is still made from plain old organic wood. Just as temp and moisture can warp and twist wood out of shape, the same things can be used to put it back. It probably took less time to reshape the neck as it did to be "cured" before being taken off it's jig.
