Hoping one or more of you out there can enlighten me. Got the "strat build" bug after looking at Mr. X's site and decided to "Go For It". Now I'm here for any advice you can give me. Since this will be my first build I decided to make it low budget. I purchased a strat-style body off of Ebay for $28. I expected it to be what I paid for it. I received the body today and I have to say that I was happily surprised and now incredibly curious. After careful inspection of many websites, I want to say that it is "Carribean Mist" in color with a swimming pool route. It has multiple layers of laminate with the outside layer being much darker in color. Could this be a Fender body, or is it a cheap knock-off?

I've been watching ebay for a strat body for build as well. I seldom see anything made of solid wood of any type sell for less than $40 regardless of brand.

For $28 I wouldn't expect more than a plywood body.

Every other layer looks like a rosewood color. I understand that the Bullets were constructed this way and that Warmoth also has laminated bodies. Just curious.
