Super nice color. I never really like orangish colors on a Strat but man this combination is sweet. Also regarding the guy with the Srat rant.... I have a towel and a violin which I will play and let you cry all night. There IS some reason why some many famous performers use a Strat.

well said :D

Here's a couple of pics of my Sunset Metallic with rosewood. I just swapped the aged white pickguard today for a pearloid one. I'm waiting for some parchment white knobs and a white switch cover to arrive that I found on Ebay.

That is a beaut!
I love the pearloid pickgard it goes well the the colors but if I had it I would definately swap that fretboard out with a maple!

or you could just find one with a maple fretboard so you don't have to swap. :P The maple fretboards seem more common than rosewood anyway. But personally, I prefer the tone and feel of rosewood.

I've got a nice 60th anniversary American Deluxe Stratocaster HSS LT. I really love this trem! It is the most tuning stable guitar I've ever played. They got the humbucker right in this guitar too.Image

the lack of an LSR Roller Nut on the S/S/S models is the only thing about the Am Dlx I don't like. But since I already had 2 Gibsons and a Gretsch with humbuckers, I wanted the S/S/S.

If I may, an outdated photo of my 2008 Am.Deluxe. There is now a zebra Seymour Duncan '59/Custom hybrid in the humbucker slot. It complients the SCN's wonderfully.

Very nice guitars! I love mine. I'm very glad I got when I did! It is the best Strat I have ever owned. I have three right now but, the Deluxe is my finest. I dig the SCN pickups. Although I have read on the net of those who don't like them. I wonder how many of these people took the time to put them through various paces to check them out? One has to take into account also that some people go by what others say or post, without them actually sampling the product themselves. I find it laughable when people try to compare a guitar with SCNs made in 2007, with one made in 1962 or 1958.

By the way, I should also mention, it is a world unto itself to play these incredible Deluxes with the various S-1 settings, through different amps with different boosters, compression, distortion pedals, etc. I found that with certain pedals it can take some bland sounding amps and, using the different S-1 setting, all of a sudden, you are playing on an expensive sounding boutique amp!

Yep, but this guitar lacks off the passing lane switch.

I'd like the mini floyd bridge too!

I just noticed the "Decision Question" and wanted to also ask...

I just bought a pristine 2005 American Deluxe off Craigslist (from a local guy setting up a guitar-building operation - cool guy...) for $600.00. It has the trem arm (not pictured) and the OHSC (also not pictured).

Here it is...

Image

My only other Strat is one of those semi-questionable MIA/MIJ Kahler Spyder-equipped "identity crisis" guitars from 1988, so I'm really not up to snuff on used values for Strats (I collect a lot of B.C. RIch - Mockingbirds and Biches mostly).

Could I ask opinions on what kind of deal I got. It seems I did really well,...but would appreciate any info.

THANKS!
