Beautiful Guitar brother! I have a 2007 V-Neck two tone tobacco brown, with the S-1 switching. I love my American Deluxe Stratocaster! I was showing it off to a friend earlier today. I'll post some photos in the near future. Nice score on yours, congradulations!

Thank you for all the kind comments. As to why I considered, and did purchase a Fender...I already have a guitar that covers the double-locking,24 fret,neck-through niche rather nicely.

That's awesome - I was considering a Carvin for my next "new" guitar. but first I want to track down the guy that I sold my Ibanez PL2660 and offer to buy it back. Supposedly he never even took it out of the case since he bought it off me 7 years ago. Hopefully he's forgotten how there was less than 1000 of them. Jackson sued Ibanez in the late 80's over it because it was too similar to the Randy Rhodes model. I just want it back because it's got so much history with me. I used that guitar for all my gigs.

Super nice color. I never really like orangish colors on a Strat but man this combination is sweet. Also regarding the guy with the Srat rant.... I have a towel and a violin which I will play and let you cry all night. There IS some reason why some many famous performers use a Strat.

Here's a couple of pics of my Sunset Metallic with rosewood. I just swapped the aged white pickguard today for a pearloid one. I'm waiting for some parchment white knobs and a white switch cover to arrive that I found on Ebay.

I'll be glad to see a Sunset Metallic American Deluxe HSS "LT" with the locking bridge option (thanks Donnie for posting a petition to Fender for a welcomed return of the deluxe locking tremolo!).

i always thought fenders were good until i actually bought one. My $2,000 deluxe dosent even hav an original or licensed Floyd Rose, the pick-ups are terrible, no fret locks(I do a simple bend and have to retune), 22 fret, and it's a bolt on. Why would anyone consider even buying a piece of junk fender. ESP or JACKSON is the way to go!

Go, get banned!
If you don't like Fender, that's fine with me! I don't like Jackson! Matter of taste and preference!
But what we all don't need here is disturbers, flaming about what we love!
Go to a Jackson/ESP site and have fun, instead of trying to spoil ours! Go get a life!
If you are so terribly bored, go practice with your guitar! That would be time well spent!

As far as Floyd Rose goes, that's what my Ibanez JEM is for!! *DOH*

Had an HSS AmDeluxe (bought new) for 18 months now -- couldn't be happier. Very little it cannot tackle in the R&B/blues/jazz/classic rock realm. And the roller nut and solid maple neck (not a rosewood fan) seems to provide great sustain and warm tone. In fact, the other day helped talk a dedicated self-described "Les Paul guy" into buying one the after bumping into him and explaining how the still criminally under-explained S1 system works (Guitar Center and Fender owe me a commission!)

And what the Strat cannot do, my going on 4-year-old Jackson Dinky can handle. That one has been modified with a 5-way SuperSwitch to split both coils (JB in the bridge, Jazz in the neck) so it can stray into more chimey areas. So to me, Strats and Dinkys are perfect complements, not enemies.

Have to say though that Fender really has done us all wrong by getting rid of the full-line of the Made in Japan Pro Series Dinkys. It is a real hole in their line I hope they fill.

I normally keep all by guitars in original condition, no hardware swaps of any kind unless when reversed it's completely invisible (IE - no extra holes, even if they are covered by the pickguard, etc), but I've made a decision with my Am Dlx to hotrod the little monster.

Since this guitar was a gift from my wife, it's got sentimental value that none of my other guitars have. My plan is to add the Clapton mid boost kit and possibly a Fishman Powerbridge. The power bridge will be controlled with a 3 way mini toggle switch for OFF/Piezo only/ Piezo and magnetic, and no volume control since a true acoustic instrument would have no volume anyway.

Wow this is a beauty!
One of my favorite color combos!
The silver dot inlays are sick!

I would say welcome to the Deluxe Club, but not sure if I am in it since I have a MIM Deluxe?
But congrats!

Can someone explain to me why ONLY the HSS version comes with an LSR roller nut?

I have an AM Deluxe HSS in Montego black. It is probably the nicest playing Strat I ever got my hands on. I got a killer deal on it as a left over at Best Buy last year. It had the worst action and fret ends on a Strat I ever saw,and I didn't like the color at all. I got it basically for the price of a used one. I got a pro set up and now I love that thing, heck I even started to like the color
