I bought a strat earlier today from a friend who doesn't know much about guitars, and it has me stumped. I have been collecting, and trading strats for years and never seen this particular combination. By the serial number on the neck plate, it would appear to be a '69. This is also true of the neck stamp. However, it is a three bolt neck. I don't think I have ever seen a three bolt neck prior to '71. Anybody offer any thoughts?

I will try to load some pics when I get home tonight. It is sunburst, maple neck, and hardtail. Any initial thoughts?
