alright. i've had my strat for a while now, and i've done some modifications to it, and it is now an amazing guitar. i guess i'll get to the point.

the trem moves easily, but i would like it to move easier. i use 9's. the bridge has 3 springs. it floats fine and everything. I do some crazy vibrato's sometimes, like steve vai does, very fast choppy stuff.

Now, i don't have a problem with it coming out of tune, and I am happy with it, but I was wondering how I could make it move a little easier, without sacrificing tuning, or taking a spring out?

Ideally, I want it so that I can just tap it hard, and it'll vibrato greatly, without going out of tune. maybe I am describing something that is ideal, but not possible.

give me your opinions please. thanks in advance.

If your trem springs are all straight forward, try slanting them kind of like this -

\ I /

I've found that it works on some Strats, but not all.

You could take one spring out and use two springs.
I'm not totaly sure but Jeff Beck's Strat is setup this way.
Tighten the springclaw if you take a spring out.

I've got a video of Jimi in concert and you can see that he is using all five springs!
