I just recently bought a 2009 Eric Clapton I really love the guitar! The person that owned it before me said he put a new battery in it before he shipped it to me. The other night I used it at a gig & the guitar sounded great, but then it started getting very quiet as if it lost power & the TBX & Mid boost both were inactive. Are these results of the battery dying? This is my first Active guitar and I kick myself for not putting a new battery in before the gig!

Sounds like it (result of dying battery).

You got probably a bad wiring issue. It's not normal for a fresh battery to drain so fast.

Check the ground wires, I think the battery problem is surely there.

I've had brand new batteries right out of the package that have been dead or weak. New doesn't necessarily mean good. I'd advise using alkaline batteries (preferably energizers) for longer life.

Only if the problem re-occurs, would I look to the wiring.
