I was at a pawn shop the other day and there was a MIM Strat there that had a black textured finish. It looked like a factory finish. It kind of looked like sand paper....Anyone have a idea when this was made and if it is original. Thanks for the knowledge!

Does it look like brushed metal? My 1st guess is a Standard Series Strat.

It almost looked like a spray on bed liner finish. Kind of plastic/rubber.

I've never heard of this. My advice would be to do a fedw things.
1. Look under the pickguard. See if it is stock.
2. Down load the Fender catalogs from the last few years. You can find them in the support area of this website.

Good luck.
