I'm gonna be real surprised if the factory strings are 9's. I think he's mistaken. the website says the clap comes with 10's the beck 9's ect.
If I'm playin nines I need a testosterone shot.

I keep a small 0 to 1" micrometer with my guitar tools to measure string gauge when in doubt. It's also handy to have a small caliper to measure nut width etc.. All that aside I use a small label maker and place a sticker with the string gauge on the plate on the back of the guitar with the string gauge 9/42 or 10/46 etc. and it comes in handy when you need to change a string in the middle of a set.

If you go to too big of a gauge your neck will start to bow. That's the reason I still have 9's on the Squier I own instead of 10's or 11's. I don't want to pay $100 for a setup on a guitar I'll eventually sell and don't feel comfortable adjusting things myself. If you have a nice guitar get a setup.

I'm hoping I have factory sent 10's like the website says. says most all strats, except the jeff beck, come with 10's. I wanna switch 2 9's. I was trying to find out if anyone knew for sure what they sent that guit with.
