I love the neck on my strat. When I bought it I wasn't crazy about the color. I wanted a red strat, but you go with playablity than color. So I changed the 3ply black guard on the black strat to the 3play white guard. That was kinda okay but still just didn't sit well.

So the hunt started for a 57 AVRI. Elderly has a FSR Nitro CAR. I was also looking at the 57 hot rods. The problem with this is I'm not going to be in that part of the country for three months. I was trying to put my finger on what I liked about those 57's other than the color. I'm not a fan on the vintage tuners, heel trust rod adjust, or the 7.25 radius. It finally hit me... the scratch plate.

Went hunting in the local shops. One close to me had a 1ply white 11hole guard. It was from a loaded Lollar scratchplate. The person who ordered it didn't like it after he ordered it and had a 3ply cut. They let me have it for $5. Just got the copper on it and loaded with the pups. That was what it was missing. Gas is gone. Will post pictures from black to 3ply white to 1ply white shortly.
