Found this one on Craigslist. I was headed to Atlanta this weekend, and found a MIM Strat that I wanted to buy, but then, last minute, I found this one a few minutes after it had been posted. I emailed him right away, and within a couple hours, we came to an agreement. Later that night, I stopped by his house to pick it up. It isn't in Mint condition, there are a few dings on the backside, but no chipped paint or anything. I know the previous owner used this guitar a little for recording, and I think maybe for gigging. No damage or battle scars...just a few dings.

It's a 2000 American Series Stratocaster, white blonde transparent finish. They didn't make too many of these...from what I hear, they only offered this color for about a year. It's hard to capture in a picture, but it's a creamy white finish that is translucent enough to be able to see some of the grain of the ash body. It's got just about the darkest rosewood fretboard I've ever seen. I don't think he was the original owner...he said he's had it about 10 years, and he says the tort guard is original, but I know it is not. I've seen a few that had parchment plastics and pickguard. Also, the pickup covers of the neck and middle pickups were black, which I changed today. Also looks like he tried to age the knobs but left them in coffee too long. I put a set of pickup covers and knobs in coffee for about a half hour, to give them a creamy color, then put them on. He had a SD Hot Rails installed at the bridge, but he gave me the original bridge pickup. Was gonna get a loaded PG from D.Allen, but the pickups I want are just too expensive. The Hot Rails is pretty cool, though. When I back off the tone knob in the bridge position, I get some nice warm tones when the gain is up. I'm gonna leave it.

Without further ado, here is is.

Looks the same color as my 99' 50's reissue telecaster. It was originally called transparent blonde, although it seemed more of a creamy white than blonde.

It's beautiful. I'm jealous.

Wow, what a great looking finish. Congrats!
Like the Mary Kaye Stratocaster but more creamy.

Cheers,
Robin

thanks everyone. I'm really liking the uniqueness of this guitar. It's got a few dings on the back (you'd need a microscope to tell) so I won't feel guilty about playing this one out at open blues jams and whatnot.
