One of my friends who desperately scrounging for money for NAMM show hit me up with an amazing offer I could not refuse. So i got this custom shop John Cruz strat with one of the nicest birdseye necks I have ever seen. I am still in awwww. I just got the guitar so I dont know all the specs yet but I know he change the pick ups which I was bummed about but I will being changing them back shortly. Im also not to fond of the gold pickguard so ill be changing that aswell. here are some pics.

Don't think it is possible to find a more birds eye'd out neck! That is beautiful. I agree about the gold pickguard...dump it for a white one...great find and sometimes a good dead is rewared...way to go.

Amazing birdseye and not often seen to that degree on what looks like a team built guitar!
I only say team since I think the JC masterbuilt would have the builders logo as the decal on the back of the headstock so correct me if I'm wrong. The coa would also be signed by JC himself.
I prefer the look of the eye to the flame.
Congats on the score what is your friend gonna buy?

Incredible looking. The gold pickguard isn't that bad.

You are correct it is not a masterbuilt so it was a team built guitar. He ended up buying some pedals and nonsense like that hes endorsed so I don't think this guitar meant that much to him. The guitar body is black and the pickguard was in fact this gold he had it made for him as he had an artist endorsement at the time with fender. He has a few other teles that I would kill to have.

Looks like the bridge was changed over from a vintage style 6 screw to the 2-point model. Curious to see what the specs were on this guitar, something strikes me funny about it though... Can't put my finger on it...
