Reading the John Mayer giveaway, it states: Contest is open to only to legal residents of the United States and its territories. If you are not in the United States, Click Here.

Fair enough, but for the poor relatives in other parts of the world, the Click Here button doesn't work.

That severely limits our chances.

Crewood: firstly, thanks for the heads up about the broken link -- fixed!

Secondly, I can assure you that we are not thrilled with the fact that it's a US-only giveaway either ... we definitely want to go global with this sort of thing just as much as you do. That said, all I can realistically say at this point is that it's a topic that remains under active investigation. As this community grows our intent is to eventually start conducting periodic user surveys here to find out what folks really want -- and without even conducting a survey I can already foresee that global giveaways and 24-7 forum access are going to be at the top of that list. :D Surveyed demand from a large body of real users is the kind of data that we'll need in order to truly devote dollars, personnel, and time toward effecting such changes. Join us, won't you, as we embark upon this journey ... :)

I notice that on alot of giveaways not only form FMIC, US only. Is it due to laws in other places or just one of those things?

BTW, I thought this giveaway was a done deal - I did get notice it was mine and on it's way :P

Yes, and that's a very important item to note -- this is not a "Fender" thing. Any corporation wishing to conduct a global giveaway (and wishing to do so *legally*) will face the same challenges. Country X allows a giveaway to be run this way, Country Y allows a giveaway to be run that way, Country Z doesn't allow giveaways except on the second Tuesday of the month and then only if you're wearing boxers ... :D Anyway, you get the idea!

Hi Brad,

As long as Fender keep producing top class guitars, I'll stay happy.

Perhaps the guys at Fender UK can do something for the Brits?

Regards....Mike

Please keep it limited it to US-only, that helps my odds...
