Give it up guys. Its pretty clear that slickwillie/redwhiteandblue/Brandnew725 (How many names does this guy have? ) does not want help from the forum members or to hear other, more plausable explanations as to how damage may have occurred to his guitars. All he wants is for everyone to listen to his rants and to sympathize with him. So, here ya go slickwillie/redwhiteandblue/Brandnew725 :

You were offered a refund, which I think is very fair, if you were not satisfied. You can take the refund and purchase another Fender that is to your liking (hopefully you'll inspect it in person before buying), or use the money to purchase another brand. If that is not satisfactory......then I think there is nothing that can please you,and you can move on, and never do business with Fender again. At this point you're beating a dead horse.

This thread is exactly what I described in a recent post I made about newbies coming on the Forum, ranting and raving about a problem with their Fender purchase, but not really wanting to resolve their personal issue - rather, wanting a bunch of us to join them as they run through the night with torches burning and masks over their faces.

I said then... and I say now... if you received a guitar that you are not happy with, even if it's the second or third...

TAKE IT BACK!

And get over it.

Take your cash and check out the local pawn shops - THEN you'll see what damaged guitars actually look like! :x

And you, Bill... what a mean person you are!

Accompanied by the usual desire to deal directly with Fender, with the huge assumption that they shipped any of the guitars in bad condition to begin with. I've seen at least a few threads, that the poster was decent enough to post that the cause was elsewhere, and/or resolved. Many times, shipping can cause damage (which we have not seen as-described yet), and the guitar doesn't exactly come out of the Fender factory straight to our houses. Maybe the OP will keep us posted of any results. :?:

I am a picky person when it comes to guitars and would not be happy if I paid that much and it has dents under the tremolo and finish imperfections. BUT, the last thing I would do is post all of it on a Fender Forum. Like, what is the point of that? I like the one description (mental images) of the torches and all of us running through the village at night plundering Fender! BTW the dents under the bridge were most likely caused by the guitar box being dropped face down by UPS and the guitar, inside the case, hit flat down face forward and caused the bridge to smack against the body. No guys at Fender would do that by hand adjusting this guitar. That is simply nuts. To summarize: I WANT MY MOMMY!!!!!

When the Epi Wilshire reissue first hit the street, I wanted one badly. I had to order it through GC as MF was way backordered, though GC, of course, met the price that MF was offering the guitar at - $50 less than on GC's web site. Anyway... I ordered one and had it shipped direct to GC where I went to pick it up a couple days later.

My main man at GC is a guy named Jeremy and he opened the shipping carton while I watched and waited. No damage that we could see on the outside of either shipping carton (the guitar was double-boxed), but when Jeremy opened the inner carton we both about fell over. The set neck was busted right off the body of the guitar! The strings were flopping around trying to hold everything together.

My guess: That guitar took a side trip through The Twilight Zone...

Jeremy turned to me and asked me if I still wanted it..? Yeah, right. :P

I realize now that I should have taken pictures - thrown those on YouTube, then run over to the Epiphone Forum and start crying my head off about how unhappy I was with that guitar and how the sales guy thought I should just take it anyway...
