Xhefri,

I have to admit, you have an awful lot of class to handle all the crap in this thread the way you have. My hats off to you. :D

It seems pretty clear that greenheart and shweeson are one in the same person. It was suspicious that their posts were always just a few minutes apart, one right after the other back and forth, and the 'tude, cadence and phrasing, were the same for both. But, when one posted a picture of supposedly his guitars, and the other one said that they were his, that clinched it for me.

You caught that too, eh shimmi?

I have followed this thread since day one and am appalled with the attitude of these two clowns – aka greenheart & shweeson. They obviously have an obsession with the Firestorm finish and have openly admitted they purchased what they believe is a ‘fake’ body from tenstarguitars. My question is: why are they personally attacking Xhefri, who in my opinion is the most recognised authority on the Strat Plus model. All Xhefri has done is create a magnificent website for all of us to enjoy and I personally have learned allot from his years of research. Fender even refers people to his site when asked questions about the Plus model. I am 100% convinced Xhefri has done nothing wrong here nor would he (or needs to) be involved with fake gear. He told us he purchased a Firestorm Strat Plus DX and a Icestorm body from tenstarguitars and openly admitted that he was not pleased with the overall condition when he received them. If he was the ‘creator’, why would he start a thread and highlight his concerns regarding the way these guitars presented? The man had the decency to show us step by step how to restore a dull finish but rather than be thankful, these two goons have gone on a mission to discredit him. To me, they showed they are unprofessional, uneducated and outright jealous! Xhefri has probably forgotten more about this subject than what these two will ever know. The point is, not once has Xhefri tried to market his Firestorm/Icestorm guitars. He knows too well that there are heaps of Firestorms out there so why would he bother! And if we all thought they were rare, greenheart and his boyfriend have quashed that theory because they have soooo many themselves – not so rare after all boys!!! We all have a right to an opinion so let’s be adults here. Xhefi’s professional opinion is that his Firestorm and Icestorm are genuine Fender produced items and he has even liaised with Fender regarding them. Greenheart, shouldn’t you be going after Rod from tenstarguitar anyway? After all, he’s the guy who’s been selling them NOT Xhefri! Leave the man alone and move on! I’d love to hear how you go with tenstarguitars though!

I finally did a google image search "Fender firestorm red" and saw many different pictures of this finish. As I said before since these are custom finished by hand they vary in appearance by quite a bit. Since they are taken in different lighting conditions with different cameras it seems every one of them is different in pattern and color. To think that someone could claim they know a fake just from looking at some pictures is silly.

Look at these

Strikingly different eh?

And for a supposedly rare guitar I saw two that sold for much less than $1500.

I had wondered about that - seemed kind of odd that someone would make chrome covers for the original Lace Sensors when Lace makes the "Chromedome" versions.

Now ask yourself....do any of these images even closely compare to the P.O.S. on Xhefris site......????......wrong color bro.....it's not a fire engine....it's so plain to see with the naked eye it makes you sick....look at the photo with the fake in the middle....same color as Xhefris......go look again

i Know that I'm pretty foolish and ill-advised to post anywhere within 10 subjects of this particular thread, but I have to tell ya, i share being appalled at the personal attacks, vitriol, and total lack of respect for the people that share this forum and generally enjoy it. Differences of viewpoint and opinion can be posted without being rude.
That being said, I'll keep it short.
My own personal opinion is that if you are trying to prove or disprove a color online or in photos, you are conducting a senseless and silly endeavor. Its unfortunate, but some colors, reds being the guiltiest, are extremely difficult to faithfully reproduce in pics/online. I admit to not knowing the technical reasons for this. I just know what i see. Do a google image search on Fiesta Red and i think you will see what I'm saying. I'll just say that Fiesta Red should look like Tomato soup with a bit of cream/milk in it.

At any rate, i was enjoying the first few pages of this thread and somehow it devolved and took a sharp left turn. I'm no more or less deserving or entitled than anyone else on this forum, but I for one, sure would appreciate the return of intelligent conversation, spirit of assistance and the simple yet effective ignoring of those who can't seem to hang with that.
I wish you all a happy 4th of July.
Best regards,
rob

Thanks for the input Rob.......It's easy to understand why it would be hard to see unless you are holding them like I am.....I understand that Fender does not have one in the museum or the custom shop....so that explains why it is hard for anyone at Fender to comment.....thanks for the effort....

And since you aren't holding the one you question it would be hard for YOU to see. And if Fender doesn't have one in the museum as you say then it must not be as monumental as you and your alias have tried to make it out to be. Give it up man. You have nothing to go on but what you spew and that's not very worthy.

Rob, if you can't do it, please get Brad to lock this thread. That is the only way to end the ridiculous accusations being thrown about. This is not the kind of thing that belongs in this forum.

It is exactly the type of thing that belongs on this forum....I would definitely hope that Fender would want to know about the production of fakes.....

Fakes and how to spot them are discussed in this forum all the time without the nastyness and baseless accusations with zero proof that you and your alter ego have perpetrated. But you wouldn't know about that since this is the only thread you have ever posted in since "joining" this forum. You want to talk about fakes? Fine. Learn some manners first.

shweeson,
Using this forum is not the way to do it. If you truly believe whatever it is that is bothering you, you should contact Fender and present your evidence to them (link below). Coming on a public forum and attacking people like this will get you nowhere fast. Rob was kind enough to come here and offer some sage advice, I'd take it.
