I have a reissue 1962 Fender Stratocaster that I bought in 2006. Fender told me that it is 1 out of 200 made. I am just wondering what it's worth. It's a two tone sunburst with a flame maple top, rosewood fretboard. Thanks!

Marlon check Vintage Guitar Guide or the Blue Book of Electric Guitars. Either of those will give you an estimated value. Just off the top of my head I think it would fall between $1050.00 and $1200.00 in excellent condition. The bottom line is it's worth what someone is willing to pay you for it. Most insurance companies will go by the book estimate unless you have replacement coverage.

If it were a real '62, then you'd want to bring it to one of the well known appraisers. For a reissue, look at eBay completed sales, Guitar Center used section (and vintage section) and a national search on craigslist. You'll get a huge range of prices. You do have to analyze those prices a bit. Maybe a craigslist is very low, but looking at the ad, you find that it's actually a Mexican strat that someone replaced the neck with a 62 reissue....other craigslist asking prices that are high.....well....they haven't sold. Be an investigator.

If you're looking to sell it, some guitar sites, craigslist are ways to try for free and start the price high and drop it a couple times a week until you start getting hits on it.
