Does my American Special H-S-S Strat need a spring that fits in the tremelo arm hole. I see that some older strats use a spring in the hole to increase the tension on the arm.
Thanks

I would use it if your going to use the tremelo bar much.It will prevent the threads from stripping out or the arm from breaking. That little spring applies just enough tension to keep the bar from getinng all loose and sloppy.I use to have a bitchen contemporary japanese model with the snap in bar and I liked that design much better personally.Unforunately.... somebody felt the need to break into my house and take it.I really hate theives. :x
