Hey folks ....
I'm looking at buying a used but gorgeous 2004 American Deluxe Mahogany Stratocaster.
The owner is asking $1,150.00.
I am a beginner and I'm looking to upgrade from my Peavey Predator. It has served me well, but this 2004 American Deluxe Mahogany Stratocaster has really captured my heart.
Is this a decent price he's asking?
Thanks for your help!
regards,
Mark

Hi there is it the HSS model with the lsr? They have tex mex pickups in neck and mid and the S1 switch. There was an sss model and a few other variants as well. I think think they were then renamed american mahogany select.
I bought one two years ago for $800 on the bay which was a good deal. They are a beautiful colour esp with the woodgrain
They are a nice guitar and probably harder to get now but that price you mention is at the upper range for a used guitar.
I guess it all boils down to how long you are prepared to wait and how bad is the itch you need to scratch! :D

Yes, it is the HSS. Beautiful transparent wine color. Black pick guard.
So $1,150.00 is too high you think?
Thanks so much for your help.

i have a 2010 model which i brought brand new from GC in Nashville for, if i remember correctly, $1400 (managed to get a box of strings thrown in as well :)

its a great guitar and i would recommend it! the humbucker has such clarity, its a diamondback, at least in mine

I personally think its a little too high priced...

but that is a great guitar I must say... I played one once and loved it. I would see if the seller could go down some on the price. after all, asking could never hurt...

I have noticed alot of American Deluxes going for about a grand. So its not far off. Go to Guitar Center Used Gear on thier web site. They usually have good prices and stand behind it. Sell warrenties with the stuff to.
