I've been using the plain old Cry Baby GCB-95 for years.

Yup. Can't go wrong with the regular Crybaby.

Yes, I have the cheapest one they do(bought it right after I bought my strat, not much money left over :D ). It sounds great. If you want a better one, then upgrade to the next one up from their cheapest one, because it has the Fasel inductor, just like the original.

Here is their website's page for the crybaby, you can see all their different models there:

I use a 70's Vox right now. I started on a Vox Crybaby before they let the name slip to Dunlop. I like both the Vox and the Dunlop not a fan of the Morley or the other optical ones.

To get the most out of your wah you need to open it up and play with the pot inside the pedal to get the sound you want. Or you could buy one that has the knob on the outside.

Just like Eric's own Vox and Dunlop wah-wah pedals!

I like the buddwa from Buddha amps. None of that ice pick sound with the toe down. Plus, it looks so cool in purple.

I didn't know you could do that. My Vox pedal seems to be a good replacement for the Dunlop wah a friend of mine 'borrowed' and took to LA, never to return. Gonna have to explore that option and see just how big the range is. Are there any wah-gods who have had a history of adjusting their pedals?

I have always done it to my crybabies. My current way is the 1970's Vox it was my late father's It has been my main wah since 1991. I use to run two in my rig. One I had set at a certain angle as a filter. They are a really fun pedal if you use them as more the just a Listen to me I sound like every Kirk Hammet solo pedal.

It seems that the Cry Baby's are very popular because they offer a lot of diversity, and you can get what that is set just right for your style. I have just a plain same old, same old Vox Wah and it does everything I ask it to (I promise I dont ACTUALLY talk to my pedals...most of the time  ).

I have found that, to put very VERY vaguely and broadly, Cry Baby = Modern Sound and Vox = Vintage sound. THIS IS NOT ALWAYS TRUE, its just a loose stereotype to think about.

I seem to be in the minority here, but go with the Vox v847, I have both and prefer the Vox. The Vox is holding up much better to wear also, especially the pot...had to replace it on the Crybaby...the Vox is ever reliable IMHO.

FWIW

You are not alone T2, I also use the Vox 847(80's era model). I find it does what I need.

Another 847 fan here. I started with a Dunlop Crybaby but found it to shrill and bright, the Vox sounds great. For what it's worth, I compared my 847 to a Fulltone Clyde and couldn't notice a difference.
