When it comes to in floating a tremolo you can either deck or block them. Both serve the same purpose. Decking the tremolo you screw in the 2 screws in the tremolo cavity. When blocking you use wood or some other material to wedge the tremolo in a fixed position. From what I understand about blocking you add mass to the tremolo and it could add more sustain to the guitar.

My guitars that have standard tremolo systems I just deck them. Less trouble to convert to floating should you wish to re float the tremolo. A personal choice for the individual guitarist.

I do a lot of bending with it. No tuning issues. I just make sure I stretch the strings real good when replacing strings. Plays great.
