I'm building up my own vintage strat using a MIM 50s Classic Player body. The outer screw spaces are 57mm so conform to US bridge specs. Basically I can't decide whether to go for the US vintage bridge or Highway one bridge due to the string spacing issue. The Highway 1 is 2"1/8 and the US 2"3/16.

I currently have a US 94 Standard which i believe is 2"1/8 string spacing same as the Highway one, so I'm used to the narrower spacing as this is my main guitar. I assume the US one is better made and is more retro accurate (i'm trying to keep it as authentic looking as possible to a 68 (i've converted the body etc) but the Highway one is cheaper. :?

Anyone any advice on what I should do???

go with the narrow string spacing

not having E strings fall off the neck is a good thing

Never mind the string spacing. Doesn't that classic player Strat have a 2 point trem system bridge?

If so, that 6 hole Highway bridge isn't going to fit..
