I recently bought a Fender American Standard Stratocaster ... knob for volume and tone of the bridge pickup are well slack ...
is this right? thanks

What do you mean by slack? able to juggle them side to side a bit? or capable of moving up and down from the scratchplate of the guitar? You shouldn't be able to do either of those things. Even taking a guitar knob off should involve a bit of an effort to pull it off the spindle so there's no way you should feel any movement apart from the ability to turn the knob up or down.

If this is a new guitar back to the shop with it and get it fixed under warranty.

well,i don´t speak (so i don´t write) english very well....i try to say is when i turn the knob for volumen and tone of the neck,the knob for tone of bridge is normal,comparate with my another stratocaster no fender....i think are well slack for easy control...simulate a violin,turn in 8 and increase for solos,etc...thanks for your patience... :D
